1. Why should I follow the group class protocol?
Group Class + Occasional Private Lessons + Practice Events = Success!
Tool #1
Tool # 2
2. You don't offer the specific dance I want to learn in a class. What do I do?
Why not grab a few friends and schedule a private group class? Take for instance if a group of 6 people split the lesson fee equally, it would only come out to $17 per person! A great way to customize your lessons without having to wait around for a class!

3. I am going to miss a class. Can it be made up?
Please attend your class.
Missed classes will not be reimbursed nor can they be made up unless you schedule and pay for a private lessson.
4. Can I take a class without committing to a whole month?
Yes. You can use the $15.00 drop-in fee per person.
5. What is taught in the intermediate class?
The intermediate class is for those who would like to continue learning Bronze Level II and III in class format. Class students will still learn Medal routines for practice. All students may use any Medals routine taught in class and take a few private lessons to prepare for an upcoming Medals Certification if they wish. The routines may also be used as a form of practice for better retention.
6. What are practice parties?
For the exception of some of the more formal events, most practice parties are fun, low cost, social events. These events are designed for all students to practice their Medals routines and also in lead/follow/floorcraft format. Besides, they are a LOT of fun! Students get to interact socially with other dancers. Friendships are made. Most students find these events really enjoyable.
7. What shoes do I wear to class?
I do not require that students purchase ballroom shoes for level I class, although, most people choose to purchase shoes anyway. Bronze II has a ballroom shoe requirement.
Medals students are encouraged to purchase shoes. Ballroom shoes help you advance in your dancing. Shoes can be purchased at Onstage dancewear on Eagle and Overland behind Outback Steakhouse. They have the best prices in town!
8. What do I wear to class?
Wearing something to move freely in is best to start. Most people think that we dress up to learn in class. Actually, the opposite is true. Dress comfortably for lessons, dress up for practice events!
9. Do I need a partner?
A partner is not required, but very helpful. Singles are more than welcome!
10. Do you rotate partners?
Rotating couples is the best way to learn to lead and follow correctly. But I will never force anyone to rotate.
11. Will I be asked to sign a long-term contract?
#1 Group classes are not required to sign a contract
.
#2 All private students must now sign a code of conduct agreement and a liability release form.
#3 Non-competitive students may choose to purchase their lessons individually without a contract, but a contract will offer you substantial savings.
#4 Competitive students must sign an agreement to complete their training and compete by a certain date to receive the "Super Savers" pricing. Competitive students may also train for a competition without the super savers pricing or a contract if they so choose, but must pay the full price per lesson.
12. How long will it take me to learn to dance?
You will be dancing a little after your first lesson.
13. I have heard that most students who choose to compete end up paying 4-6 thousand dollars to participate in a competition. Why are your prices so much more reasonable than what everyone else charges?
I feel it is important for me to encourage students to compete because it really helps the student achieve a higher level of dancing. Most all studios will need to charge students extra fees to make a profit. But to be fair, they have a much higher overhead than I do and thereby need to make more money to make it work for them. I rent space therefore, my overhead is a very different situation. and so I can pass my huge savings down to my students!
I can say No to extra charges!
No to royalty fees!
No to management fees!
No to retainer fees!
I only charge a pro and Per Diem fee so that I can come back into town pretty close to the break even point. I feel that the experience to the student far outweighs my need to make a huge profit. When we have more than 2 people attending, I will split my expenses with everyone who attends ! See what it is like to attend a competition just a little above my cost!
If there is a question that you have that has not been addressed here, please feel free to email me with your questions. I will be thrilled to help you!
